Beijing 北京 developed the BS-2 as its second generation watch model. 166,861 of them were produced between 1961 and 1968 on a production line imported from Swiss watchmaker Enicar. The fact that many still survive is a testament to their quality, and to the fact that watches in China were very expensive, causing their owners to have them repaired rather than replaced. Earlier BS-2s had 17 jewel movements. This later one has 18.
